Manufacturing

All MIVI kids products are designed in Finland. Manufacturing takes place in Portugal at a Finnish-owned factory. The factory, suppliers and partners adhere to ethical and ecological values. Portugal is an EU country that is not classified as a risk country. In Portugal, working life is regulated by law, and compliance with the law is also monitored.
The factory pays its employees at least the required minimum wage, and some have higher wages, depending on the job. Professional skills of the employees are maintained through a vocational training programme, and a private occupational health care provider and occupational safety services ensure a healthy and safe working environment for the employees.

During peak periods, products are also manufactured by subcontractors, and the wage level of their employees, the working conditions and the environmental impact of production are also regulated and monitored by legislation. Inspections at the subcontractors’ facilities are carried out regularly, at least once a year, by the staff of the factory in Portugal and by Finnish staff.

Material

Our products are made from organic cotton and their production is certified according to Öko-Tex Standard 100, which guarantees that the product is free from harmful pesticide, heavy metal or formaldehyde residues. For the consumer, this label is a kind of quality guarantee. This label is a uniform safety standard throughout the textile production chain and allows for all stages of production to be checked for harmful substances.

Products

Our products are of high quality and are designed to accommodate a long period of use. Many of the products have, for example, foldable cuffs. In many of our products, the fit is also on the slim-side, meaning you can select a product one size larger than you would expect.

We hope that you too, as a customer, will do your part. We encourage sensible and informed purchasing behaviour. We also hope that you will always pass our products on to another user once they have been outgrown. The longer the product life cycle, the better.
